POW/MIA

Korean War POW/MIAs arrived 1 AUG 2018, from North Korea to Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii

The POW/MIA Flag arrived on Monday, 5 FEB 2018, from New Mexico to American Veterans Hawaii.

Day One (6 FEB 2018): tour began visiting significant sites on Oahu with the POW flag at the Ewa Plain Battlefield, World War II Revetment District, Barbers Point Naval Air Station, Ewa Fields and ended at the USS Missouri (BB-63) Battleship.

Day Two (7 FEB 2018): tour began with the POW flag being raised over the Hawaii State Capitol, then to the USS Arizona Memorial, Fort Shafter, Wheeler Army Airfield and ended at Schofield Barracks.

Day Three (8 FEB 2018): the final stop was 0900 on Thursday, 8 FEB 2018, at the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) with the great men and women, military and DOD civilians alike, whose mission it is to conduct the global search and recovery of our Nation’s POW/MIAs. At 1000, the POW/MIA flag continued its journey to Conway, Arkansas, back to CONUS.

Over 83,000 service members are still Missing in Action (MIA). Our goal is to keep the focus on all our POW/MIAs until they are all accounted for.
